Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist IV to be based in Anchorage, AK office. The position is for an experienced science lead or project professional in the environmental consulting field with a safety background that wants to expand their career at a global company. AECOM can offer a vast array of opportunities for a driven individual which may include a role as a local Environment Safety person for the Anchorage office and for a large Federal contract, building up of a HazMat program, and/or project management. Our Anchorage, AK office currently has a strong backlog of consulting work that will help to broaden the knowledge, experience level and value of our employees.

Duties may include but are not limited to:


Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial, and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
Conducts research and does investigation work as required.
Plans and organizes project studies.
Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.
Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


BA/BS 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS


Strong technical and communication skills are critical
Ability to work in a team environment
Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and project skills required
Knowledge and training in RCRA and CERCLA a plusInternally driven, self-starter, team orientated
Experience working on or managing contracts
Project Management Professional certification (PMP)Project
