As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and driven soil scientist to join our team of Ag Tech professionals.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe successful candidate will be supporting and our clients throughout Central North Dakota, from a negotiable location that fits within the territory.\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat you'll be doing:\r\n\r\nReporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in delivering agronomic support to growers in the region. On a daily basis you will:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tUse remote sensing and satellite imagery, interpreting data to create quality Farmers Edge zone maps by fields, using proprietary software.\r\n\tUse GPS and maps, guide soil sampling procedure to ensure it is completed, acting as lead expert and backup for Seasonal Soil Samplers when necessary.\r\n\tInterpret soil test results from Farmers Edge Labs or chosen regional contract laboratory.\r\n\tAs a subject matter expert, utilizing Farmers Edge Tool Set (ZonePro, Sample Pro, RxPro and ScoutPro) to create and/or approve fertilizer, fungicide and seeding recommendations (Rx) prescriptions.\r\n\tProvide support in collecting and completing contract requirements with growers.\r\n\tCollect Equipment IDs\r\n\tField plans including legal land description and crop rotations\r\n\tHistorical info such as As-applied data.\r\n\tWork with growers to provide agronomic support to interpret yield variability maps, identify potential stress or pressure in the field, for further scouting investigations for R&D.;\r\n\tEnsure data collection from CVS sites and variety evaluation trials with representatives' support.\r\n\tUsing preferred Farmers Edge scouting software to collect data as per identified protocols for R&D; data sites (CVS and Variety Evaluation Trials-VETs))\r\n\tOther sites for yield, disease model validation.\r\n\tWork with Account Management team to help drive sales including sales calls to promote Smart VR or reconcile grower concerns on fertility, fungicide or seeding recommendation (Rx) as required.\r\n\tSupport other hub personnel such as Precision Technology Specialists at times.\r\n\tUnderstand and participate in the Farmers Edge business plan and strategies to achieve operational and personal successes.\r\n\tTraveling within the region to meet with growers (when conditions permit)\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhat you'll need to succeed:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor's degree or diploma in Agriculture, Bioscience or a related field preferred\r\n\tStrong understanding of Agronomy/Precision Agronomy, including regional farming practices, knowledge of fertilizer and seed, drainage regulations and farm equipment\r\n\tCCA accreditation preferred; willingness to obtain this designation is required\r\n\tPrevious experience doing data collection for R&D; purposes, growth staging, recognizing disease, weeds, growth, and other environmental pressures.\r\n\tA history of working with high tech hardware and software; technologically inclined\r\n\tSelf-motivated with a genuine drive to provide great customer service\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nFarmers Edge offers a very competitive compensation package.
