The Input Trait Discovery (ITD) group combines genomic analysis, activity-based screening, protein engineering and optimization as well as integrated bioassay systems to deliver novel insect control traits. We are seeking an outstanding Senior Research Associate to join the Plant Expression Systems Team in the assay discovery development group under ITD umbrella. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional research groups to develop and establish novel approaches for in planta and cell-based assays using advanced technology and tools in plant cell biology for screening insecticidal proteins. \r\nResponsibilities How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you. \r\n \tDevelop novel approaches for in planta and cell systems for protein expression and characterization \tCollaborate across research groups to develop and implement experimental plans \tWork with the interdisciplinary cross functional groups for the development of plant-based expression assays that support insect control discovery \tRemain on the cutting-edge of new cell-based screening technologies and explore how these new technologies can drive assay development \tDesign and execute large-scale screening experiments, keep accurate data records, and perform integrative data analysis. \tCommunicate results with colleagues to make appropriate decisions about project direction \tLead discovery assay pipeline by communicating with stakeholders on submissions, planning the assay design and execution, coordinating with supporting groups for resources, and delivering the reports to stakeholders QualificationsEducational Qualifications: Candidates should have a Master of Science degree with 2-4 years of lab experience in plant transformation or a Bachelor of Science degree in plant cell biology or related field and at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in crop based genetic transformation with in vitro culture experience under strict axenic conditions in an industrial setting. \r\nCompetencies and Qualifications: \r\n \tConduct experiments, complex technical operations, or information search/analysis projects. \tOptimize and interpret methodologies to suggest experiments or alternative approaches. \tRecognize unexpected results, interpret and analyze results, and make suggestions based on their analysis and conclusions. \tContribute to formulating work plans and managing daily workflow. \tSignificant hands-on Plant Cell Biology experience with in vitro cell culture experience and independently adapts new methodology to current projects. \tStrong knowledge and good background experience in plant cell tissue and in vitro cell culture \tProven experience in line maintenance and genetic manipulation of plant cell cultures \tDemonstrated experience in transient and stable transformation with single cells, plant suspension cultures, and tissue explants \tDemonstrated work experience with delivery technologies, for example, Agrobacterium based transformation methods in crops. \tWorking knowledge of molecular biology which includes experience in vector construction and familiarity in using DNA sequence analysis tools like Geneious, Vector NTI, AlignX, BioAnnotator. \tExperience in imaging technologies and processing with understanding of cell fate transitions with the structural understanding of plant-based expression systems. \tExcellent communication and technical writing skills are required. \tMust be reliable, self-motivated, persistent, and can work effectively both independently and in teams. \r\nWork/Visa Sponsorship not offered for this role \r\nBenefits: Let's peek at how you can grow your wellbeing, health, and future at Corteva! \r\n \tStrike a better work-life balance with robust time off benefits including paid maternity, paternal and eellbeing leave \tPrepare for your future with our competitive retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement program, and more \tEnjoy access to health benefits for you and your family on your first day of employment \tAnd much, much more! \r\n Community: We care about you and we care that you're comfortable.
