In addition, we have a robust internship and externship program, and frequently host student tours. nn nResponsibilitiesnn Lead the fermentation team to plan, execute and document all research experiments involving fermentation, downstream processing and final product formulationn Develop documents in compliance with the Product Innovation Processn Actively participate in identifying research areas that could lead to the development of new productsn Write various professional documents, for both internal and external usen Adhere to laboratory standard operating procedures, documentation and GMP guidelinesn Practical knowledge of stage-gate processes is desiredn Experience with regulatory affairs; understanding of Intellectual Property, protecting IP, and freedom to operate issues is desirednn nQualificationsnn Education and Experience: n n Ph.D in Fermentation, Microbiology, Microbial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other related degrees with 5 years experience in aerobic fermentation n Master degree in Fermentation, Microbial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other related fields with 10 years of aerobic fermentation experiencen n Fluent in Mandarian Chinese is desired (or a plus) n Experience with downstream protein purification is desiredn Experience as an effective project team player, leader, and motivatorn Experience supervising scientists and interact well with others in a team environmentn Detail oriented, highly organized, and motivated by accomplishmentn Excellent experimental design, results interpretation and problem solving skillsn Effective time managementn Excellent written and oral communication skillsn Strong leadership abilitiesn Ability to simultaneously manage several projects and lead teams of various talent and expertisen Ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels of management within a team environment on a variety of programs and projectsn Contribute toward the discovery of new scientific, business or regulatory concepts or principalsn Project management skills, including forecasting skills, project planning, and development of project timelinesn Advanced computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) and statistical analysis (SAS or comparable program)n Ability to work in a continually changing environmentn Extensive background and expertise running, maintaining and trouble-shooting fermentation and down-stream processing equipmentn Proven track record of accomplishments; accomplishments in commercialization by taking products based on new technologies to market successfully is desiredn Up to 15% domestic and international travel nnKemin is an equal opportunity employer, and all reasonable accommodation will be considered. n nA post-offer background check and drug screen is required.
