Job Profile
This position supports the atmospherics team within an interdisciplinary environment comprised of Engineering, Science, and Social and Economic professionals. Work will involve conducting baseline studies for air quality, meteorology, and noise as well as contributing to environmental effects assessments and permit application processes. Office-based analysis and reporting will be a key component of the job, as well as contributing to relevant field programs. Field work will involve participating in the construction, operation, inspection, and maintenance of atmospheric monitoring stations, as well as using other meteorological instruments. Experience installing meteorological stations is an asset. Candidates must enjoy working in the outdoors at remote locations under varying environmental conditions and have a genuine interest in engineering and meteorology. Essential Skills Well-developed and proven scientific report writing skills. Meteorological and air quality baseline reporting experience. Candidates should have at least a Bachelor’s degree (a Master’s degree would be a bonus) and must have strong practical skills. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ related industry experience. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills considered a must. Desirable Skills Air quality modeling experience with AERMOD and/or CALPUFF. Experience creating emission summary and GHG reports. Meteorological station and Air Quality field work experience.
