Wyeth seeks a Sr. Research Scientist I in Collegeville, PA to design, conduct, interpret and report in vitro and in vivo toxicology and metabolism studies to address drug metabolism related issues in drug discovery and development. Work with Drug Discovery to predict and identify metabolites of New Chemical Entities from various therapeutic areas. Utilize analytical instruments including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and LC-MS (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry) to conduct the studies. Apply drug metabolism knowledge in conducting mechanistic metabolism studies. Provide toxicology reports and drug metabolism reports to support Investigational New Drug (IND) and New Drug Applications (NDA) filings with the FDA. Reqmts: PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, Toxicology or related field. Must have knowledge and hands on experience with NMR and LC-MS for drug metabolism studies as well as in vivo and in vitro toxicology and drug metabolism studies gained through education, experience or training. In lieu of the required PhD, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry, Toxicology or related field plus 2 years of experience in NMR, LC-MS, in vivo and in vitro toxicology and drug metabolism studies and preparation of toxicology reports and drug metabolism reports to support NDA filings.
