Key Accountabilities
Develop and perform analytical methods designed to characterize novel formulations in support of pharmaceutical compound development
Develop and perform dose formulation studies including formulation stability, homogeneity, and API concentration
Validate analytical methods according to GMP guidelines to establish assay ruggedness
Generate proper method documentation
Troubleshoot analytical methods as needed to ensure proper functionality
Review and report analytical data
Supervise junior formulation scientists and technicians to ensure project completion in timely manner
Ensure that all SOP’s are followed
Qualifications
BS or PhD in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or pharmaceutical chemistry
2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in formulations or preformulations R&D;
Demonstrated proficiency in HPLC, GC, mass spectrometry
LC/MS and/or LC/MS-MS)
Experience with other analytical characterization methodologies such as X-ray diffraction
XRD), Differential Scanning Calorimetry
DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis
TGA), Dynamic Vapor Sorption
DVS), Karl-Fischer titration, or Polarized Light Microscopy
PLM) preferred
Data capture
LIMS) experience
Supervisory experience preferred
Detail oriented, self-motivated and committed to the profession
Excellent communication skills
Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills
