Hydro Geologist Jobs description

Hydro geologists study the ways in which groundwater moves through the rock and soil of the earth, and make and use laws to ensure clean groundwater supplies. The main duties or a hydro geologist include groundwater and soil characterization and remediation, overseeing the optimization of water wells, checking water pressure, design and function of wells, helping run water pumps at maximum efficiency and minimum power, contaminant assessment, assisting in the management and protection of groundwater, assessing the impact of landfills, and supervising geophysical and geological investigations like test drilling.

Hydro geologist job duties may also include writing technical reports for regulatory agencies and government bodies, ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory legislatures, managing project staff, preparing reports, assigning and reviewing laboratory tests and supervising personnel in daily program activities and functions.

The minimum qualification required for a hydro geologist job is a bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology or related environmental field. Professional geologist certificate/registration is preferred. Previous experience is preferred. Basic computer skills and effective communication skills are the other requirements of the job.
