Our valued client, a mid-sized oil and gas company in Calgary, is looking for a Exploration Geologist for their northern properties. This position is primarily an exploration role, although there will be some development as well. This is an great opportunity to get in with a company with a solid financial backing and excellent long term compensation opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team (Geophysicist, Reservoir Engineer, Land, and Operations).
- Increasing land holdings through technically sound play creation.
- Building reserve and production levels by defining and generating economic prospects and drilling locations.
- Evaluating both Crown land postings and acquisition opportunities.
- Recommending and implementing well workovers.
- Documenting the play and prospect generation process.
- Handling of the operational aspects associated with new well drilling as required.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 8 years of Geology including exploration and development experience.
- Experience in Northern Alberta and Northeast BC would be considered an additional asset.
- A Professional Geologist registered with APEGGA.
- An undergraduate degree in Geology.
