Scientist Education Jobs description

Education jobs are available to scientists in colleges, universities and technical institutes.
In an academic setting the responsibilities of a scientist in an education job is to teach courses in science education at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels, guide master’s and doctoral degree students, seek external grants and funding, develop innovative graduate education programs, maintain a high degree of productivity in the area of science education and serve schools and professional associations. Some education jobs also require the scientist to develop and pursue research programs in assessment, technology enhanced literacy, literacy for second language learners etc. Other daily duties include preparing and presenting lectures, evaluating student performance using assessment devices, attending seminars, conferences, special courses and scientific meetings and preparing results of scholarly activities for presentation at meetings, or for publication.

Scientist education jobs generally require a master’s degree or a PhD in science from an accredited college or university. Teaching experience and a record of funded research is also important.
