Position Description
Performs a variety of duties focused on materials analysis of products, components and materials. This individual works under minimal supervision to apply substantial technical knowledge to diverse and complex problems. Particular emphasis on mechanical properties testing of materials and interpretation of the results.

Position Responsibilities
â€¢ Technology Leader in mechanical and thermal analysis testing. Conducts development, characterization, and implementation of new tests for use on materials and components. Provides technical direction to technicians or lower level scientists performing mechanical techniques in tensile, compression, dynamic testing and thermal analysis. Interface with internal lab clients to determine requirements for testing, quality and timeliness of results.
â€¢ Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of related materials analysis techniques including scanning electron microscopy and metallographic analysis.

Basic Qualifications
â€¢ Minimum of 5 years of experience with Bachelorâ€™s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry or related discipline including hands on skills in materials testing and laboratory techniques.
â€¢ Strong communication, interpersonal and team skills

Desired/Preferred Qualifications
â€¢ Experience in the medical device or other regulated industry
â€¢ Experience in leading a team or project

Physical Job Requirements
â€¢ Must be able to stand/sit/walk for 8 hours a day
â€¢ Occasionally lifting and connecting of load cells and fixtures
