Senior Research Associate II

Job Profile
The Sr. Research Associate II will work as a member of the High Throughput Biology and Screening (HTBS) Group. He/She will support multiple preclinical drug discovery programs in a multi-disciplinary fast-paced team environment. Duties will include biochemical & cell based assay development, optimization, and automation. Perform high throughput screens. Perform extensive compound profiling in multiple assays. Develop liquid handling protocols and program/operate liquid handling robots. Analyze data applying generic and specialized software. Communicate results to project teams. Share responsibility for maintenance of laboratory equipment and space. Proactively review the literature and introduce new approaches and technologies to the group.
Requirements
Requires a BS degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or cell biology and 5 years of laboratory experience or an MS and 3 years of experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, enzymology, protein biochemistry or a related field. Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to participate in highly effective teams where the core values of integrity, teamwork, accountability and excellence are being observed.
Requires ability to use common tools for effective scientific communication within the company. Demonstrates ability to recognize anomalous and inconsistent results and interpret experimental outcomes.
Must have experience in mammalian cell culture; be proficient in lab automation, including various liquid handling workstations, plate readers and high-content imagers.
Must be familiar with various assay readouts, including but not limited to, fluorescence, luminescence, UV absorbance, label-free detection and high-content images.
Must be familiar with software packages or informatics tools to perform dose response analysis on large datasets.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to recognize abnormal and inconsistent results; familiar with statistical tools to troubleshoot, optimize, and perform quality control on production assays.
