Job Description:
Position will involve characterization of subsurface soil, groundwater and assessing hydrogeological conditions in support of environmental evaluations. The candidate will perform field tasks and prepare environmental reports; will perform field sampling activities, coordinate with clients, and prepare reports. The candidate will also support other field activities as necessary (e.g., asbestos and lead inspections).The successful candidate will carry out specific and limited portions of routine assignments, gather data and other information to be used in the preparation of scientific reports; compile and organize environmental data collected by others. Candidate will apply standard field practices and techniques in specific situations, prepare basic data and scientific documents. Additionally they will perform supervised field tasks such as soil logging, monitoring well installations, sampling, testing, water level/groundwater gradient surveys, etc. The candidate will also review analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine analyses based on well-defined guidelines.Assignments usually include one or more of the following: field work including environmental sampling and parameter collection, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation, and other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in a specific narrow area of assignments.Performs work for which there are set guidelines and precedents that involves plans, investigations, testing, or equipment with relatively few complex features.Responsible for quality control of tasks or small segments of project produced, as well as products of technical and administrative staff assigned tasks by senior project professional.
