Minimum Requirements
: An advanced degree (M.A.) in Anthropology with an emphasis in prehistoric or historic archaeology or cultural resources management is required. Degree must be completed. Applicant must also be a Registered Professional Archaeologist.Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively responsible assignments involving cultural resources management and archaeology with a demonstrated proficiency in both areas. Must have regional expertise in northern California. Demonstrated ability to work with all aspects of Section 106 compliance and cultural resources component of CEQA is essential. Successful applicant will have demonstrated experience and excellent working knowledge of NEPA and CEQA. Excellent and demonstrated writing proficiency is required. Work experience in a consulting venue with business development responsibilities is preferred. Must demonstrate multi-year experience as Principal Investigator on complex projects.This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee.
Job Description:
Will provide senior support in the Cultural Resources Group. Will assume project and task management responsibilities for both stand-alone cultural resources work as well as multi-disciplinary projects. Work will include preparation of proposals (budgets and scopes of work) technical documents, environmental documents and field assignments in both urban and remote settings. Ability to perform physical activity in diverse environments is required. Projects and clients will draw from the public sector (federal, State and local) and private sector. Projects may be focused short-term assignments or long-term, complex multi-phase projects. Ability to work effectively with external and internal clients, regulators and senior, mid-level and junior staff is critical. Successful applicant will be expected to mentor junior staff. Business development with existing and new clients will be expected. Metrics of success will include ability to expand cultural resources practice.
