Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Profile
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtains patient samples, performs requested analysis of patient specimens, reports results to the physician and is responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance, quality assurance, calibration of instruments. Performs correlation and/or validation studies on new instruments. Collects and collates data for Quality Assurance studies. Coordinates/leads work team. Sets up new equipment and/or writes procedures. Oversees work of CLT, Lab Technicians I & II and Phlebotomist.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution &/or certification/licensure as an MT (ASCP), MT (AMT), or equivalent registry.

QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing is preferred. Meets CLIA regulation 493.1459 or is a student in a medical technology program leading to a BS degree.
