The area boasts award-winning wineries, and, most importantly, warm, friendly people. nResponsibilitiesnMedical Laboratory Scientist: Conduct routine and complex laboratory tests (for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease), interpretation of test results, instrument operation, in addition to supporting clients as they access laboratory services. Oversees laboratory practices for given lab section such as, procedure documentation, quality assurance, quality control monitoring, instrument maintenance, competency and proficiency programs, staff training, and preparing for various certification, licensure, and accreditation processes. May over see MLTu2019s and Clinical Laboratory Assistants.nMedical Laboratory Technician: Conduct routine and complex laboratory tests, interpretation of test results, instrument operation, in addition to supporting clients as they access laboratory services. Oversees laboratory practices for given lab section such as, procedure documentation, quality assurance, quality control monitoring, instrument maintenance, competency and proficiency programs, staff training, and preparing for various certification, licensure, and accreditation processes.nQualificationsn Medical Laboratory Scientist Education:nn A bacheloru2019s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or medical technology from an accredited institution is preferred.Licensure/Certification:n Successful completion of the ASCP, AMT, AAB, or CLS accreditation program for medical technology (MT/MLS). Experience:nnn Six months experience working in laboratory or equivalent environment preferred.nn Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:nn Ability to perform venipuncture and capillary collections appropriate for the age of the patient in a professional manner and with minimum discomfort.n Ability to perform standard laboratory analyses accurately according to published procedures and turnaround times. n Ability to validate results which includes, but is not limited to, recognizing questionable results, investigation of the cause(s) of questionable results and finally to take appropriate action regarding release of test result to customer.n Ability to communicate written and verbal information to customers regarding appropriate specimen collection, transport, and test methodology. Able to interpret test results. Able to handle client service issues at all levels appropriately, courteously and effectively with a customer focus.n Ability to interpret, initiate, and comply with regulatory guidelines as required by regulatory agencies.n Ability to utilize critical thinking for problem solving.n Ability to multitask effectively and accurately in a stressful environment.Medical Laboratory Techniciannn Education:nn Successful completion of the ASCP, AMT or CLS accreditation program for medical laboratory technician (MLT) plus an associateu2019s degree in a physical, or biological or medical technician from an accredited institution is required, Orn Be a high school graduate or equivalent and have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician) is required.nn Licensure/Certification:nn Current CPR certification preferred.nn Experience:nn Six months experience working in laboratory or equivalent environment preferred.nn Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:nn Ability to perform general phlebotomy procedures.n Ability to communicate written and verbal information to customers regarding appropriate specimen collection, transport, and test methodology. Able to interpret test results.
