The Department of Natural Resources is hiring\u00a0a two (2) LTE\u00a0Hydrogeologists stationed at the Milwaukee DNR Service Center. Position Summary: This position will assist the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Remediation and Redevelopment (RR) program with regulatory oversight of PECFA-eligible environmental contamination cases and administrative tasks related to management of PECFA. The responsibilities of this position include case status assessment, case review, and preparation of work directives. This position will manage, evaluate, and provide technical assistance for petroleum contamination cases eligible for PECFA reimbursement. Additionally, this position will review data submitted through routine reporting requirements and make decisions\/recommendations for future work based on standard hydrogeologic principles, WDNR guidelines, State and Federal maximum contaminant levels, and health advisory levels in groundwater and air. Special Notes: This is a limited term (LTE) position. Limited term positions do not automatically lead to or enjoy the same benefits as permanent employment, but this position does offer valuable work experience and an opportunity to learn more about career opportunities with the Department of Natural Resources and the State of Wisconsin. LTE employees are limited to working 1039 hours within a twelve-month period. In order to be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin upon hire. Employment will require the selected candidate to pass a background check. DNR does not sponsor work visas, thus, in compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: -Knowledge of geology and hydrogeology is necessary to assess the sensitivity of sites to environmental impacts and damage by reviewing soil maps, geologic surveys, well logs, soil and groundwater data, etc. -Ability to review monitoring data and responsible party remediation assessment reports for adherence to WDNR guidelines and standard hydrogeologic principles. -Oral and written presentation skills and interpersonal skills are necessary to complete the assigned tasks. -Self-motivated with the ability to work alone and prioritize multiple work tasks. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g.Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and have a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: -B.S.\/B.A.in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field, with 6 credit hours of hydrogeology course work. -Work experience in geology, hydrogeology, or other science\/engineering field -Experience or knowledge of GIS or database application use.
