AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist to be based in Germantown, MD.

This position is expected to begin in January 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:


Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or other related discipline (e.g., Geophysics, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Environmental Geology, Engineering Geology)
Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.


Preferred Qualifications:


With related experience
General knowledge of the environmental sciences.
Experience using Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access). Experience with specialized software (EVS, GIS, CADD) is a plus.
Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner. Ability to learn through on-the-job experience. Field work is involved (sampling wells, etc.); therefore must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds (cooler full of samples) and safely drive a full-size pickup truck. Must have a valid US driver’s license.
Knowledge of CERCLA RI/FS, RCRA, and RD/RA.
OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER Training certificate.
