How will you make an impact?
This position is a global support role for the diagnostics plates portfolio within the Diagnostic Packaging business segment within the Laboratory Product Essentials business. The Application Scientist will be required to provide scientific/technical expertise in use of Thermo Scientific diagnostic plates in the development and application of ELISA through conference calls, emails, sales presentations, product demonstrations, educational webinars and marketing collaterals. Also this role will assist sales staff in assessing potential applications of diagnostic plate products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. This role may demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. They also may provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. The application scientist will ensure that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications. They may also provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications. The focus of this role is on pre-sales and/or post-sales application support without sole responsibility for closing the sale.

What will you do?
Expert Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA, ELISA) experience in use, development, trouble-shooting and validation in accordance with regulatory settings.
Develop applications to support customer requests and challenges, and share these applications through specification sheets, application notes, webinars, presentations and other tools.
Provide expert technical support to our customers, demonstrating professional understanding of the chemistry, applications and regulatory and quality requirements of ELISA. In addition, help resolve customer complaints, including providing technical feedback to management, commercial, quality and engineering.
Support new and existing diagnostic plates through product verification and evaluation.
Train commercial and other team members on products, applications, regulatory requirements, and necessary product quality attributes.
How will you get here?
Minimum of a BS in life sciences, chemistry or engineering.
3 to 5 years of technical experience in developing and validating enzyme immunoassays (EIA) in a regulatory environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, including active listening skills.
Strong skills in writing technical/scientific publications.
Solid trouble-shooting and analytical/technical skills associated with diagnostic ELISAs
Experience working with customers, commercial teams and varied sales channels including distributors and direct.
Requires up to 20% travel including international.
