We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist to join our cell based bioassay team within the Process Research and Development organization of our research division at Kenilworth, NJ. The qualified candidate will be responsible for development, qualification, transfer, and of cell based potency assays to assess the biological activity of various biologics modalities such as antibodies, multifunctional proteins, and peptide therapeutics. Experience of working in a GxP regulated laboratory environment for routine sample testing, documentation, and data verification will be of value. Preferably, the candidate would also have experience developing assays to assess the immunogenicity of the drug candidate. The candidate will need to communicate results effectively in presentations to stakeholders in partner organizations, to write technical reports, and to participate in cross-functional teams.
Education Minimum Requirement:
Ph.D Degree in biochemistry, cell biology, bioengineering, biological sciences, or related field
MS Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
BS Degree with a minimum of 7 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
Required Experience and Skills:
Experience in applying a variety of biochemical, biological, and immunological techniques (ELISA, cell-based assays, FACS, homogenous FRET assays, in-cell westerns, reporter gene assays, qPCR, ADCC and CDC,etc.)
Experience working with primary immune cells from whole blood and BSL2 level biological agents.
A strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently.
Strong ability to deliver complex objectives under aggressive timelines in a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in bioassay development for biologics modalities such as monoclonal antibodies, multi-domain proteins, antibody drug conjugates and peptide based therapies is highly desired.
Proficiency to utilize statistical software for design of experiments and dose-response curve analysis (PLA, JMP, DoE, SoftMax Pro, etc.).
Experience with assay qualification, validation according to ICH guidelines.
Prior experience in working in and transferring assays to a regulated GxP testing facility will be valuable for the role.
Working knowledge of regulatory and industry guidelines in the area of potency assay development.
