Well-funded Bay Area (South San Francisco) clinical stage biotechnology company is looking for an experienced research biologist to lead work on global protein profiling research efforts for clinical- and discovery-stage assets. Kezar Life Sciences is focused on the discovery and development of small molecule therapeutics that target pathways involved in protein homeostasis. Our lead compound, KZR-616 (a selective inhibitor of the immunoproteasome) is in clinical trials in rheumatic diseases and we have multiple drug discovery programs targeting protein secretion in oncology and autoimmunity.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a major scientific role in the research and development of novel therapies for serious diseases. This position will lead research programs around the mechanism of action of KZR-616 and to help guide drug discovery campaigns in our protein secretion research programs. This will involve hypothesis driven design, execution, and analysis of global protein profiling studies utilizing multiple labeling and protein isolation techniques. Proteomics-based research will directly be applied to ongoing research and clinical projects and will be utilized in the selection of clinical candidates from our drug discovery efforts. Flexibility to work simultaneously on multiple projects under tight timelines and changing priorities is a must for this position.
If you are interested in making a major impact in drug discovery and development of novel therapies please send your cover letter and resume to ********************.
