Job Type\/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name\/Job Location This position is in the\u00a0Center For Human Immunology. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Assists Department Head and senior faculty\/staff members in the administration of Department financial and operating procedures and programs. Coordinates purchasing\/financial management of the Department. Coordinates and organizes Department events and programs. Performs administrative duties of a complex and confidential nature in support of senior management. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists and advises Department Head and senior faculty\/staff members on Departmental issues, including but not limited to, operational\/budgetary\/financial\/staffing matters. Maintains liaison with all levels of administration to coordinate Department business, accomplish directives, and facilitate the resolution of problems. Work with Finance Directors on finance\/budget matters, including coordination of all business\/payment functions for the Department. Ability to coordinate and organize Departmental events, both monthly and annually, as directed by the Department Head. Ability to work with Lab Personnel to conduct day-to-day operations within the lab. Ability to work with ILab (lab testing\/tracking\/billing product) to conduct lab business and coordinate billing of users of various lab tests. Assist in the coordination of data gathering\/lab user information for annual reporting requirements. May be expanded to assist with data gathering for grant proposals. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma required. Two to four years of experience in office management, preferably with supervisory and budget management responsibilities. Appropriate education and\/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor\u2019s degree in a business related field is strongly preferred. Experience in a medical, research or educational environment preferred. Understanding of financial related issues and ability to work with financial system and lab billing system (ILAB).\u00a0 Excellent oral and written communication skills.\u00a0 Ability to work with various individuals at all levels of an organization.\u00a0 Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and attentiveness to detail required.\u00a0 Motivated.\u00a0 Ability to function independently in a professional and confidential matter essential. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $20.36 - $25.94 per hour.
