Description Aret\u00e9\u00a0Associates seeks highly motivated and technically skilled individuals to perform challenging and important work in the areas of sensor design and analysis, phenomenology, detection algorithms, oceanography, and related software and scientific computing development. Aret\u00e9 has multiple position openings for entry-level to mid-level research scientists and scientific computing specialists at our office in Arlington, Virginia, Chantilly, VA\u00a0and our headquarters in Northridge, California. At Aret\u00e9, you will develop solutions critical to national security in the areas of remote sensing, signal processing, physics-based modeling and data analysis. Roles and Responsibilities: Conceive, design, prototype and\/or implement advanced algorithms aimed at generating solutions to critical problems Assess algorithm performance on real-world data Present technical results to customers and at technical review meetings Document results via written reports and\/or well-commented code Required Qualifications: Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s or PhD degree in physical sciences, engineering, or mathematics Experience in scientific programming (Matlab, Mathematica, Python, and\/or C\/C ) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Capacity to work in a team with minimal supervision Agility to work multiple potentially disparate projects simultaneously Proven capability to develop creative solutions to complex technical problems Appetite to attack and solve interesting problems of critical importance to national security U.S. Citizenship and ability to acquire a security clearance Desired Qualifications: Experience in any of the following areas: sensor applications including EO\/IR and radar, data analysis, signal processing, machine learning, algorithm development Motivation and ability to design, develop, analyze, and tune complex software to solve scientific problems, using modern software development languages and practices Understanding of High Performance Computing concepts such as: multithreaded programming, inter-process communication, GPU programming, and coprocessor programming A current security clearance Aret\u00e9 Associates is an employee-owned small business (ESOP) focused on advanced scientific and computational solutions to some of the most challenging technical problems faced by the United States.
