SUMMARY: The responsibilities of this position will vary from performing one procedure or work instruction to a number of analytical, microbiological or quality system procedures or work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory. Precisionand accuracy in performance of the work instructions and data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements. Initial proficiency testing must be passing and competency will be verified at least annually thereafter. Team member will be required to demonstrate proficiency and growth after training; other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS: Education: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Prefer college level courses or degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science and/or Physical Sciences.Experience: Prefer laboratory experience. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office.Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills. Special Skills: Work activities are well defined with clearly stated directions or guidelines. Most work steps are clearly prescribed and cannot be modified. Most work duties require repetitive operations. Must be detailed oriented.Training Programs: The training needs for this job classification have been assessed by the appropriate management team member and are listed in the Training Spreadsheet. The amount and level oftraining required are dependent on the level of responsibility authorized to team members assigned with this job classification. Aside from the minimum required training, training programs may vary from team member to team member.Physical Requirements: Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break. Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing upto 50 pounds without assistance.Supervisory: None.,
