The candidate will work on cross-functional teams and be responsible for conducting physical measurements on a variety of dosage forms and modalities including small molecules and peptides formulated for oral delivery, injection, inhalation or other novel delivery routes. Ideal candidates should have a broad knowledge of materials characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR and Raman), electron microscopy and mechanical testing. Expertise in chemical imaging techniques, vibrational spectroscopy, or materials selection and characterization of drug delivery devices is strongly preferred. Qualifications Education: A Master\u2019s Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline, with a minimum of\u00a0four (4) years experience, OR a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline. Required:\u00a0 Experience with materials characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, electron microscopy, IR and Raman spectroscopy, mechanical testing. Strong academic record including publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations at scientific meetings. Self-motivated, creative and energetic scientist willing to continually learn and solve complex problems. Strong written and oral communication skills. Preferred: Expertise in chemical imaging techniques. Vibrational spectroscopy and chemometric analysis experience. Experience with materials selection and characterization of biomaterials or drug delivery devices.
