Job Description

CACI is seeking Senior Data Scientist to support a large DON BCAT 1 COTS implementation program.  You’ll use your leadership and analytical skills to improve the Navy ashore ship maintenance process. You’ll work closely with the Navy customer to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environment to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll mentor teammates, develop visualizations, build predictive analytics, apply statistical and machine learning techniques, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn disparate data points into objective answers.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Provide the Navy with data validation to support evidence-based decision making.

Conduct research, experimentation, and implementation of cutting edge data analytic and business intelligence capabilities

Apply, as appropriate, activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and modern business methods and performance measurement techniques.

Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures.

Design and develop data models that optimize analytical reporting performance.

Build reports, dashboards, and OLAP databases to support end-user reporting and information requirements.

Perform statistical analyses on data and predictive forecasting.

Analyze and interpret results using statistical techniques.

Interpret trends or patterns in complex and data sets.

Cultivate and apply refined aesthetic judgment to designing functional and appealing data visualizations emphasizing simplicity and rapid comprehension by a variety of audiences including engineers and executive level senior managers.

Contribute to design conventions and standards for data visualizations that embody and promote common team branding and identity.

You’ll Bring these Qualifications:

More than three years of experience with high-level languages, including Java.

More than two years of experience with distributed scalable Big Data storage, including Accumulo, Cloudbase, HBase, or Bigtable.

Experience in MapReduce programming with Apache Hadoop, the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), and processing large data stores

Experience with using Agile software development methods in a DevOps environment.

Experience with a real-time, large-scale data processing engine, including Apache Spark.

Experience with developing solutions and integrating and extending free and Open-source software or COTS products.

Secret Clearance is required

These Qualification Would be Nice to Have:

Three (3) years of professional experience as Chief Data Scientist, Chief of Analytics, Chief Data/Analytics Officer

A Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution, and/or a scientific, statistics, and/or mathematics discipline from an accredited institution.
