Job Description SummaryWe are currently recruiting for a Project Scientist II, Surgical & Infection Prevention in our corporate office in Alpharetta, GA.Job DescriptionReporting to the Manager of Health Care R&D, the Project Scientist II will be responsible for Medical Device New Product Development specifically in the area of Surgical and Infection Prevention Products, including surgical gowns, drapes, sterilization wrap, facemasks, and other acute care PPE related products. They will be responsible for leading a subset of a larger project related to design, development and commercialization of a new medical device or lead multiple projects with smaller scope and complexity. The Project Scientist will work with customers and cross functional teams to complete major deliverables aligned with internal product development processes.\r
ResponsibilitiesContribute to the conceptualization and design of Surgical and Infection Prevention ProductsSupport Design Control related activities and creation of other documentationGenerate and analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specificationsEffectively interact with interdepartmental personnel and teams such as, marketing, quality, and product supply to uphold project plans and achieve project objectivesMake decisions with moderate assistance; seeks assistance as appropriate from Team Leader or senior members of the team. Apply technical/scientific principles and procedures to creatively overcome challenges. Learn about portfolio of products. Gains understanding of customer requirements. Responsible for developing and improving skill sets to grow within the organization. Maintain collaborative relationships in a diverse group with shared objectives and accountability. Maintain constructive relationships with peers across the organization through effective listening, verbal and written communication.Create and protect intellectual property globally, including invention disclosures, patents & trade secrets Plan and carry out assignments with minimal assistance and direction.\r
RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Materials Science Engineering or other closely related technical field.Previous medical device product development experience preferredExperience with global regulatory practices i.e. FDA, ISO, etc.Project Management Professional, Design for Six Sigma and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification preferredPrevious data manipulation and statistical analysis experience with software (JMP or Minitab) preferredEffectively works with a diverse cross-functional team to solve complex problems while gaining cooperation of the team members through influence.Displays effective written and verbal communication skills as well as active listening skills.Considered as an internal expert in one or more technology or product platforms.Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure while aligning with cross-functional team membersBasic knowledge of company products, new product development process, and methods for gaining customer insightsIf you are a current employee of Halyard Health, please apply here.
