**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. seeks a Ph.D.-level Computational Materials Physicist, Materials Scientist, or Materials Engineer with demonstrated expertise in the multi-scale modeling of a variety of advanced /emerging materials.
The candidate should be a confident, self-motivated computational materials physicist / scientist / engineer who can lead investigations to explore the properties of advanced materials, using state-of-the-art computational methods, e.g. molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo, and related techniques.
The candidate’s experience should reflect an ability to conduct impactful research, in new directions of materials science, with minimal supervision.
The candidate should be prepared to author reports and publications, and to deliver presentations to share results with colleagues and the broader research community.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: PHD and 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. Ph.D. in physics or engineering with an emphasis in the computation of properties of materials, with a record of authoring and publishing research results in high-impact journals.
This position requires authorship and conference presentation; therefore, effective written and oral communications skills are essential, as demonstrated by recent journal article authorship and conference presentation.
The ideal candidate will have broad expertise in MATLAB and related computational packages, and will have demonstrated programming skills (C, FORTRAN, or similar) toward the development of new computational tools.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Postdoctoral experience demonstrating the ability to lead impactful research, to author articles suitable for inclusion in refereed journals, and to present new results in conferences and similar settings.
The ideal candidate would be able to interact comfortably with experimental colleagues, in a collaborative environment.
