Responsibilities include:
Providing protein variants with improved target properties for project teams
Increasing the understanding of protein design/structure/function relationships on project teams – ultimately leading to the increased efficiency of our protein engineering program.
Developing strategies for utilizing advanced analytics and machine learning in protein design
Dates for this internship are May 13-August 2 of 2019
Minimum of a B.S. in Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology or related field and
three or more years in a Ph.D. program
Working knowledge of the experimental and computational aspects of protein structure/function and engineering
Ability to script and program in a modern programming language
Strong knowledge of algorithms used for computational design/analysis of proteins
Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral) with proven ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, precise and actionable manner to diverse teams at all levels of the organization
Experience with large, complex datasets
Working knowledge of machine learning algorithms
Knowledge of wet lab techniques in protein biochemistry
Working knowledge of experimental design and statistical methods
Experience with R and Python programming languages
