Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist for employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group. The Environmental Scientist will support our industrial asbestos/lead/mold program which includes inspection, design/plan, and abatement oversight.
Multiple opportunities are available in the Charlotte, NC, Huntington, WV, Indianapolis, IN, Albany, NY and Jacksonville, FL regions.
The Environmental Scientist will travel throughout a region for typically one week projects (home on weekends). Travel is expected to be about 50% of the time.
The ideal candidate will be able to travel, have excellent writing and communication skills and experience with industrial hygiene, asbestos and/or lead surveys/inspections.
Tasks will include:
Preparing reports and other technical documents.
Compiling, evaluating, and analyzing environmental data
Conducting asbestos surveys
Conducting lead paint inspections
Conducting mold / indoor air quality surveys
Conducting universal and general hazard inventories surveys
Travel within a geographic territory conducting inspections; travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays
Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, or closely related field and 2 years of experience in environmental consulting and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid driver's license
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead and mold remediation
Asbestos and/or Air Monitoring certifications
