Basic Purpose/Accountabilities Provides toxicological support (health and environmental hazard evaluation and exposure and risk assessment) for LyondellBasell products and operations of multiple business units, including regulatory compliance, product defense and legal actions. Assesses toxicological issues affecting company businesses and employees and recommends and implements strategies for addressing these issues balancing the science, product stewardship, business needs, employee concerns, and costs. Where appropriate, works with industry peers in consortia to establish rational cost-effective testing research programs, or information development to meet regulatory requirements and product stewardship concerns for new and existing company products. Responsible for coordination of industry programs larger in scope, of key impact to company businesses, or involving joint health research programs. May chair such joint toxicology programs. Responsible for monitoring testing and research being done by contract laboratories or outside parties. Responsible for all aspects of communication of toxicology information.Responsibilities\tMonitors for toxicological findings, regulatory actions, or health or environmental effects initiatives affecting company products or businesses, or employees, and recommends strategies for addressing these issues balancing the science, product stewardship, business needs, employee concerns, and costs.\tDevelops scientifically sound, resource efficient and cost-effective programs for existing or new products in concert with product safety and business management to address customer, employee, and/or regulatory/authority concerns. Programs may be managed internally or through industry consortia.
