The responsibilities of the Senior Scientist will include: Successfully representing biostatistics/other biometrics functions for the biomarker team; Providing statistical and strategic leadership for the biomarker team and needs for clinical development projects; Being directly responsible for the statistical integrity, adequacy, and accuracy of the biomarker studies, including activities to support personalized medicine strategy and in some instances development of PK/PD modelling; Collaborating and consulting with biomarker scientists in support of biomarker discovery/validation as well as with some needs for clinical development projects and presentations/publications; Keeping abreast of new developments in statistics, drug development, and regulatory guidance through literature review, conference attendance, etc.; Leading biostatistics and cross-functional initiatives. Additional responsibilities will include: Contributing to the biostatistics/scientific community by mentoring junior colleagues, actively serving as subject matter expert and participating in internal/external initiatives; Integrating omics and other data from internal and external source; Expanding in-house knowledge bases and mine data to initiate or assess new discovery initiatives; Developing strong partnerships with informaticists and statisticians in other R&D; IT teams and Janssen organizations to deliver cutting-edge computational and analysis methods and statistical frameworks for project applications; Collaborate with external academics, research consortia, business partners and CROs; Contributing to intellectual property fillings and publish new scientific findings; Working under some supervision with a high level of autonomy.','!*!Required: A minimum of a Ph.D. in statistics/biostatistics or a related discipline with 1- 6 years of sound theoretical and applied statistics experience; Experience with statistical software tools; Strong working knowledge of statistics, bioinformatics and data mining tools and algorithms; Experience with analyzing omics, epigenetics and NGS data; Effective communication and collaboration skills, including good statistical consulting and problem-solving skills; Experience with data collection, processing, integration and meta-analysis; Excellent oral/written communication skills; Experience with high performance parallel computing and cloud computing; Experience with metabolomics, proteomics, and microRNA profiling.
