HDR Alaska currently has an opening for a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our team in Anchorage. The primary duties of the Senior Hydrogeologist include planning, managing, directing, modeling, and monitoring all aspects of surface and subsurface drainage, groundwater, stream, river, and drainage icing. Duties will also include independent self-directed research, report writing and public presentations of work products. The applicant will be expected to work with and mentor other engineers, environmental specialists, and CAD and GIS professionals to develop specific solutions to targeted surface and subsurface hydrology problems associated with infrastructure development in arctic and subarctic climates. Applicant will be responsible for working with local leadership to establish project teams; developing proposals and fee estimates; establishing project schedules and responsibility assignments; developing project design criteria, schematics and methods; performing or overseeing study designs, modeling, monitoring programs and implementation.

• BS Geology required with emphasis on arctic engineering and hydrology.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in the planning, study, design and implementation of stream, drainage, groundwater, icing, solutions in arctic and subarctic environments .
• Proven solutions, project leadership, project management (staffing, schedule and budget), and client interface skills.
• Software knowledge required: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS, HEC-RAS.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
