and programs that provide our employees the resources to pursue their
goals, both at work and in their personal lives.
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated
Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist with strong hands-on experience
in molecular immunology and antibody discovery. The focus is on capturing
antibody V genes coding for therapeutic antibody candidates derived from
primary single B cells using state-of-the-art cellular and molecular biology
technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the
execution of molecular cloning and will assist with single B cell selection and
capture. The candidate should be capable of independent thinking with attention
to detail and will be expected to contribute towards developing high throughput
antibody cloning platform using innovative molecular biology technologies. Our
team effort has led to the very successful delivery of first-in class clinical
candidates from transgenic rodents in Immuno-Oncology and related fields. BMS
is committed to seeking out inspired new talent to contribute to our mission of
advancing antibodies to the clinic to treat serious unmet clinical needs.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
Execute hands on scientific research and assist
in the development of antibody discovery through the single B cell cloning
platform.Contribute/lead towards developing high throughput
(HTP) methodologies for molecular cloning of isolated antibody V genes from
primary single B cells.Assist/Lead in the development of innovative and
alternative approaches as compared to standard E.coli based plasmid cloning.Assist/Lead in establishing state of the art HTP
recombinant antibody expression system.Analyze antibody sequences acquired from next
generation sequencing (NGS) based approach to evaluate antibody immune
repertoire and/or barcoded paired heavy and light chain antibody V gene
sequences.Assist in establishing efficient selection
methods for isolating antigen specific B cells from immunized animals and human
samples.Assist/Lead in designing experimental studies and
perform necessary lab experimentation for dataCollaborate with other team members to
effectively leverage internally available lab tools to enhance productivity.','!*!Master’s degree in Molecular Biology/Immunology
or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years or Bachelors degree with 7
years of relevant scientific lab experience.Robust experience in molecular cloning techniques,
including RNA isolation, PCR, vector and primer design, DNA sequence analysis
and recombinant protein expression.Experience with analysis of antibody gene and
protein sequences.Familiarity with automated HTP cloning and recombinant
protein expression is desired.Experience with Next Generation Sequencing and
cutting edge molecular cloning methods (Gibson, Golden Gate, SLIC, LIC) towards
recombinant protein expression is a plus.Prior experience with antibody generation strategies,
particularly selection of antigen specific B cells and single somatic B cell
cloning is desired.Expertise in enrichment of primary immune cells
and multi-color flow cytometry is a plus.Strong focus, motivation, and commitment to
hands-on lab work.capture, analysis and presentation.Ability to propose creative solutions,
troubleshoot problems, and maintain laboratory records of protocols and data.Ability to interpret and report data to line
