PRO and Consumer Products is seeking an experienced Materials Research Scientist at our iNNOVATION institute in Neenah, Wisconsin.
The role will research, develop, experiment and innovate alternative material options for GP product packaging to include Professional and Retail products, Food Wraps and Bag solutions.
The Materials Scientist will provide expertise in polymers, paper, laminations and barrier packaging to include manufacturability. This role requires a creative and open-minded approach in the pursuit of material and process discovery, exploration, experimentation, test, analysis, and qualification.
A key element of support will be an understanding of client and customer needs, development processes, environmental and sustainability initiatives. This role will prepare and present technical solution proposals that integrate with GP products, systems and processes.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics, Materials or Polymer Engineering or Science
At least 5 years of materials science, and research and development
Material R&D; experience in polymers, paper, barrier films, laminations, and packaging industries preferred
Experience with material properties, testing methodologies, and qualification protocol
Knowledge of material processing and equipment
Managing multiple self-projects, and contributing on cross functional projects
Understanding and interest in environmental and sustainable material strategies and technologies
Develop and maintain materials roadmaps for all product categories
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel up to 10% required
