Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Geologist for immediate employment in the Louisville, KY office.
AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive. In this role, entry-level technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM’s Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Travel to project locations, typically within a one-day drive of Office
Collect and classify environmental and geotechnical samples, observe/document soil/rock drilling and well installation, and conduct site surveys and hydraulic testing
Gather data and other information to be used in the preparation of scientific and engineering reports
Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations
Prepare data analysis and presentation for technical reports. Inclusive of complex hydrogeologic analysis, geochemical and contaminant analysis, database management, and geographic information system operation
Review analytical data for indicators of quality
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in geology or engineering relevant scientific discipline
Knowledge in logging borings and corings for geotechnical investigations
Ability to do boring logs in GINT and write up geotech reports
Eligibility to become PG or PE
Must be able to clear medical, drug, and security screening requirements
Strong communication practices and skills, especially writing
Capable and willing to travel and conduct field work for environmental site assessments
Must have valid drivers license
