College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) is undergoing a faculty search for an individual with significant interest and experience in innovative teaching and learning paradigms in the health sciences. UNECOM is in the process of transitioning to a completely integrated osteopathic medical knowledge and clinical skills curriculum across the medical education continuum. The curriculum enhances the study of osteopathic medicine and fosters a lifelong commitment to investigation and cross-disciplinary thinking by emphasizing clinical correlation, transactive and experiential education principles. UNECOM is also committed to active learning and assessment of educational outcomes.
We are particularly interested in candidates with an expertise in microbiology, biochemistry, nutrition, and physiology. Additional credentials, including previous publications or funding, in medical education are desirable. Individuals with a PhD, DO, MD, PharmD, or EdD degree will be considered.
Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor
Candidates must demonstrate leadership experience and interpersonal skills, and an ongoing interest in facilitating teamwork amongst a large number of colleagues to execute an integrated curriculum. Candidates are expected to contribute to the preclinical education of osteopathic medical students as well as professional medical education enrichment activities. Establishing and maintaining activities in the scholarship of medical science teaching is strongly encouraged and supported.
This is a benefits eligible, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position with rank and salary commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications.

UNECOM is Maine’s only medical school and is located on the southern Maine coast, 90 minutes north of Boston. The College has dedicated itself to educating primary care physicians and is the number one provider of physicians for the State of Maine. An Interprofessional Education Collaborative coordinates activities between these colleges to offer IPE experiences for all of the health professions.
