Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree to work in the government of private companies. For research and teaching professions, a PhD is the only way to go. For entry level positions, a degree in earth science studies, biology, chemistry, engineering and geosciences. These jobs require research work in some part of their work routines. Environmental scientists need a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences and engineering with some minor in biology, marketing, business, and finance background. A course in GIS also should be included.

Scientists jobs are expected to increase faster than any other career. The government sector is the best place to find employment. Newbie’s may start as assistants and do basic research functions. The job growth is incredible due to the demand of these specialty jobs in overall environmental protection, interpretation, and developments.
