Analytical Scientist Jobs

Analytical scientists obtain and process information about the structure and composition of matter. An analytical scientist plays a leading and scientific role in the development and delivery of analytical technologies like HPLC, GC etc. Some scientists also specialize in specific types of analyses like analysis of samples found in food, polymers, pharmaceuticals etc

Other responsibilities of an analytical scientist include planning and executing scientific research experiments, performing qualitative and quantitative analysis, monitoring and advancing the use of analytical methods in problem solving, verifying results through standardization and calibration, and creating new methods to make measurements, ensuring the safety of water, food and pharmaceuticals through analysis, and operating and maintaining HPLC and GC equipment.

Minimum qualification required for an analytical scientist job is a bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, physical chemistry or related field. Master’s degree or PhD is generally required for supervisory positions. Previous experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team are also important.
