Plans for Job Training Program

By jim  |  Dated: 02-16-2012

On Monday, the President, Barack Obama, proposed a new plan, which would require spending $8 billion for job training programs within various community colleges. The programs would take place throughout the next few years and would help students to prepare for the real world, in which they will have to go out and find a job.

This plan, The Community College to Career Fund, is part of the budget that the President has set for the year 2013. It is supposed to begin on October 1st. With this plan in place, there would be a 2.5 percent increase on spending for the Department of Education in place.

It is believed that with this investment, students will have a better chance of preparing for employment, especially if they are laid off from previous jobs because they are no longer in existence. The programs will help to retrain the students for an assortment of different jobs and positions so that they will be versatile when it comes to employment.

The vice president’s wife, Jill Biden, is planning to stop within the region sometime next week, as a way of showing some examples of how different community colleges and businesses can work together to help prepare future employees for employment with those businesses. President Obama said the tour will be taking place in different areas all around the United States, including Ohio, North Carolina, and Kentucky.

Having these programs within community colleges is a great way to help people realize that there are different programs available and different opportunities that are available as well. The Sinclair Community College President, Steve Johnson, believes that making an investment on education and job training is a very smart choice, especially for the economy and for all of the working people in the United States. He believes it is important to help students develop the skills they need to have for certain jobs so that they will have more opportunities available.

The Community College to Career Fund would work to help millions of workers by training them with the necessary skills they need for good paying jobs, which includes jobs within the healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing sectors.

While the United States is still struggling after dealing with such a huge and crippling recession, which began in 2007 and ended in 2009, there are still certain industries that are need of workers who have the right skills for the job. It is believed that within the next few years, there will be millions of job openings available within the manufacturing sector.

The plan will provide a little over $250 million worth of funding for science, math, technology, and engineering programs, along with helping nearly 9 million students pay for college.
