General Statement of Duties: The Clinical Laboratory Scientist I is responsible for performing routine and complex medical laboratory tests and analysis of results; assuming accountability for accurate results and responsibility for assigned equipment within section/department. Essential Job Functions: 1. Performs specimen processing and testing independently to include moderate and high complexity testing. 2. Analyzes test results - demonstrates knowledge of pathological processes with correlation of disease states and test results. 3. Understands, performs, and practices preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; troubleshoots and takes corrective action. 4. Understands, performs, and practices quality control to include running controls, evaluating data, documentation of data, and taking corrective action as required. Communicates any relevant QC information to supervisor/lead tech. 5. Assumes responsibility for own development; meets timeliness for gaining skills. Satisfactorily completes competency checklist for this position 6. Provides technical information about test results to physicians, nurses and patients. Acts as a resource to others. ','!*! Schedule:

','!*!Minimum Education and Experience: A. High school diploma (or equivalent), with 11 years of clinical lab experience. -OR- B. 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from an accredited college orUniversity, including 24 hours of medical technology or 24 hours of science including 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology and 12 hours of courses in chemistry, biology or medical technology combination, and successful completion of a 50 week U.S. military medical laboratory training course. -OR- C. Associates Degree from an accredited MLT training program. -OR- D. Bachelors Degree from a 4 year accredited CLS program. Minimum License and Certificates Required: Not Applicable Preferred Requirements: Experience with Microbiology Plating, Stat Tests, Gram Stains.
